Arabic is an elegant, logical and efficient language. We aim to resolve the myth that Arabic is ‘hard’.
Modern Arabic is suitable for all kind of learners
This is by far our most popular course. The course consists of 4 levels; Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Superior. Each level takes approximately one year (2 semesters) to complete.
All courses listed under this section are offered to non-current fulltime madrasah students. Generally our students are aged 17 onwards. However, we do make exceptions for younger students who are keen to join with another adult.
Upon completion of the 4 levels, student will have achieved the competency to sit for GCE ‘O’ level Arabic Examinations by Cambridge. All classes are conducted once a week for 2 hours per session.
At Novice level, the student will build up his vocab count and general understanding of the Arabic sentence structure. By the end of the semester 1, he will be expected to converse continuously in Arabic with several pauses for at least 8 exchanges in the topics covered.
At the end of semester 2, students will be expected to: conduct a medium-length conversation. Apply proper sentence structure. Read and understand a medium-length passage (80 words). Write a short essay (50 words) about one of the selected topics

All the lessons are dialogue-based. Students begin each chapter by reading new dialogues on the theme, learning new vocabs (at least 30 words per month) and reciting the lines with their partners. They will then learn the carefully selected grammatical rules related to the dialogues. Only essential grammatical rules that contribute to the dialogues will be covered. Highly technical rules and jargons will be avoided so that the average students can comprehend better.
As the students begin with zero Arabic knowledge, the instructor will use English/Malay in his class. By the end of Novice level, the instructor will be expected to communicate with the students using 40% Arabic.
At this level, the focus is more in the speaking skill, as we view it as the most important skill for new language learner. Students will find themselves speaking Arabic in their very first lesson. However, we still conduct exercises on the other language skills (reading, listening, and writing) with lesser emphasis.
Common exercises for Novice level include reading dialogues aloud with partners, reading comprehension, listening comprehensions, spelling (semester 2), composition, group conversation, etc.
Students will be continuously assessed in their speaking skills throughout the 2 semesters. At the end of each semester, students will sit for a written test to allow them to progress to the next level.
This is a new course that we specially designed for would be pilgrims. The course is aimed to help you to communicate with locals. Find directions. Understand prayers recited during the Hajj/Umrah rituals & appreciate the visited historical sites
The duration of the course is 12 lessons for 2 hours per session. Minimum requirement is recognition of Arabic letters.
As a seasoned Middle East study trip operator, we understand the challenges of travelling to Arab countries. Finding directions, getting lost, finding the best food, and bargaining for souvenirs at the local souqs, all that can be done much easier and safer, if you can communicate in Arabic.
You don’t need to speak their local dialect, you will need 1000 hours of practice to pass as a local. All you need are some common phrases and sentences in standard Arabic. Believe us, Fusha Arabic is so prestigious that locals will show you added respect if you speak it.
The aim of this course is to:

All the lessons are dialogue-based. Medium length passages are introduced in the second semester. Students begin each chapter by independently reading new dialogues/passage on the theme, understanding the new texts using the vocabs they have amassed over the months, and reciting the lines with their partners.
They will then learn the carefully selected grammatical rules related to the dialogues while revising older ones. More complex but essential grammatical rules are introduced progressively throughout the year.
The instructor will start the level at 40% Arabic instructions and progressively increase to 70% by the end of the year. Explanations of texts are all done in Arabic. Only grammar lessons will be mixed with English/Malay. At the second semester in particular, we prepare the students for Advanced level where 90% instructions and explanations will be in Arabic.
At this level, we give equal focus on speaking and listening skills. One of the main challenges at this level for students is to understand continuous and faster paced Arabic speech especially by a native Arab. However, we still conduct exercises on the other language skills (reading and writing) with lesser emphasis.
Common exercises for Intermediate level include reading dialogues aloud with partners, reading comprehension, listening comprehensions, spelling, composition, group conversation, oral presentation, etc.
